Mount McKinley

Mt Mckinley is a towering, snow and ice-clad mountain. surrounded by five large glaciers. It is located in the centre of the Alaska Mountain Range.

Mount McKinley has a larger bulk and rise than Mount Everest. Even though the summit of Everest is about 9,000 feet higher as measured from sea level, its base sits on the Tibetan Plateau at about 17,000 feet, giving it a real vertical rise of a little more than 12,000 feet (3,700 m). The base of Mount McKinley is roughly a 2,000-foot plateau, giving it an actual rise of 18,000 feet.

It is the highesh peak in North America, technically it is not that difficult to climb but the conditions are the worst on the planet with temperatures as low as -71C. About 50% of all climb attempts fail as a result o fthe conditions and about 100 climbers have sadly lost their lives trying.
